Bye-Bye Mullet-First Haircut July 31st, 2010

Delaney is 15 months old, and I am just now ready for her to get her baby hair cut. I've been putting it off because I knew I would cry. Buggy has little flips on the ends, and I didn't want anything to happen to them. Her hair didn't seem to need a cut until I picked her up from daycare, and she was the only one that looked like Albert Einstein after her nap... ;)

The infamous hair...

She brought "pup-py" (as she says) with us for moral support...

I had to get prepared, too. :)
Eric took the lovely picture...

"Mommy, what's going on?"

Posing for pictures in her Harry Potter smock...

The first snip of baby hair...

She wasn't too sure what to think about the whole thing...

If you can't tell by my mouth, I am getting emotional at this point, but trying not to... :(

Taking some off the back. She's making her goofy face...

NOOOO!!! Not the mullet!!

Daddy, save me!

All done...

Checking everything out at the salon...

Let's get outta here ya'll!... :)

Later that day, we celebrated her cousin Alec's 12th birthday. Here is a cute picture that we took of them after we ate. :)

That was a BIG day!!

Last Days of Summer

Delaney and I decided to take advantage of one of the last days of our summer and go to the zoo. Before we left, we did one of our new "favorite things," which is to clean our hands with germ-x. She is a hand-cleaning fool, but this makes me very happy!... "Wash your hands, Delaney."

I have been looking for a snack that is easy to clean-up and nutritious, and I think I have found it! She loves dried strawberries. They look really gross, but she loves them! (a little blurry pic)

We had to feed puppy before we left...

At the zoo, we stopped at the front entrance to take in the beautiful pond...

We'd been to the zoo before, but she was much more interested this time. I think she is finally old enough to realize that we're actually looking at animals, and not just walking around. :)

She enjoyed the weasles...

We followed a group of little boys around for awhile. I think she is little "boy crazy." haha...
We decided to cool down with a ride on the train. She loved when the conductor said for everyone to yell, "All Aboard!!"...
We looked at all the people, animals, and the construction for the new zoo exhibit. We did find out that the new exhibit would host the most elephants of any zoo in the country, including Disney World's Animal Kingdom. Fun!!
When we got home, we were very tired! She chewed on her favorite pillow and soon took a nap...

Fun in the Sun with the Family!!

For our last vacation before school starts back, we took a family vacation to visit my aunt and uncle in Daphne, AL. My mom and dad drove up with Delaney on Thursday morning, while Eric and I came down that night. It was full of new experiences and words for Delaney. She can say "puppy" and when Kenny asked her where the rat (her stuffed animal named "Ralphy") was, she put up her hands to say "I don't know?!" As soon as we woke up on Friday, the first thing she wanted to do was get back in the swimming pool... (6:00 in the morning)My dad and Eric went to Biloxi for some blackjack fun, while the girls stayed back and went to Fairhope. My favorite purchase of the weekend was a piece of artwork that will be painted by GiGi, a lady who painted the rose painting in Delaney's room. (Delaney "Rose" painting) She will be painting a portrait of Delaney as an angel. I can't wait to blog as soon as it arrives! After a long day at the shops in Fairhope, we took her for her first park visit of the trip in Daphne...
She is learning how to stick her tongue out when we ask her, "Where's your tongue?"
She was in a daze when she saw the other kids on the spinning, twirling toy...
So I took her for a ride, dizziness and all... All that shopping and playing made us hungry. We really enjoyed Mary Beth's cupcakes...Maybe a little too much... What??! A girl's gotta eat...When Daddy came home she told him about how much fun she had that day...
Posing for some pictures...
Yeah, yeah we're "twins." Pop ALWAYS says that!
Later that night, we ate at The Original Oyster House" with the whole family. My cousin, John, and his fiance, Amy, were able to watch Delaney sing and dance for everyone as they waited for their food. As if that wasn't enough... the restaurant has a singer/guitarist downstairs, and Delaney performed for everyone entering the restaurant, too.:) I have plenty of video of her performance, but it won't upload right now. So here's just one pic of us eating beforehand...
On Saturday, we went to the outlets in Foley. We found some great deals at our favorite kids' shop, Pampolina. :) Since we had been riding in the car awhile, Delaney was very happy to visit the Fairhope Park when we got back in town...
She loved looking at all the wooden art around the kids' play area..It is a beautiful park, and we will definitely go back next time we visit..

Perect castle for our princess...

We had an amazing time with amazing people, and we sure did enjoy every bit of it... :)

Delaney's 2 newest favorites

Our family is so lucky and blessed to know such sweet and thoughtful people. Laney bug has two new favorite things that were given to her by these friends. She loves her new favorite "love bug" shirt from Ms. Sherry. It came from Vancouver, Canada! :)

Showing it off to everyone...

For our little "lady bug," Ms. Brenda gave her this new favorite chair. For some reason, she loves talking to it and giving it hugs.
Sweet girl...

Telling the ladybug all about it...

Thank you so much!
Love,
Delaney Rose Roberts
