MeRry ChRiStMaS 2010!!

This is how we felt when we woke up on Christmas Eve,

Of course we had to stop to take some pictures before heading out for the long day of festivities...(new photoshop photos, too!)
 Getting my morning love,
We went to the Roberts house for Christmas Eve lunch. When we finished eating, we opened some gifts. Here are some of Delaney's presents...

Delaney loved Daisy Duck! Alec was caught off guard by this picture. :)

One of her very favorite gifts was her new table and chairs. I see many tea parties in our future...
Or maybe in her doll's future...
When we left the Roberts, we traveled to Springville to have Christmas Eve dinner at Memaw's. We loved serenading everyone as they ate...
When it was present time, we took no time ripping the paper to see our gifts!!
and boy did we get some gifts!!!
 small cool gifts...
 and BIG ol' awesome ones!!
We sometimes had to find Delaney in all the presents...
We made sure to thank everyone with "high-fives"...
 And our famous sweet kisses...
Then everyone joined Laneybug in a round (or four) of "Ring Around the Rosy"...
 Everyone falls down...(except Princess)
We were thrilled to show off our vocal skills with our new toy...
The next morning, we awoke to a room filled with presents from Santa...
 a tent...
 playroom toys...

We put on our new slippers...
 Danced with our new Mickey...
Brushed our hair with our princess brush...
 and made a HUGE mess...
The new lamb was thrilled to be part of the action...

Memaw gave her a doll that she adores! She thinks they are best friends...
 "Isn't that right?"
 Of course it is...
She loved using her new kitchen to cook up a meal for her new pal...

Another special event happened on Christmas. We saw our first white Christmas in Alabama since 1919. We enjoyed every minute of it...
 and Pop did, too...
Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!!

Roberts Family Christmas 2010

We had such a fun time in Hueytown with Eric's side of the family. We loved visiting with everyone, including this little sweet girl, Bella...
We even gave out kisses and shared our Santa hat (that's a big deal!)...
We easily shared our Santa hat, but sharing Nana was whole other thing... :)
We didn't even want to share Nana with Granddaddy at first...
But then we were tickled a little...
And we decided we needed to kiss Granddaddy, too...
We remembered how he gave us anything...
 And everything...
 We could want...
The end.

Our First Christmas Performance and PAR-TAY!

Before the blog, I want to remember some cute things that Delaney is doing at 19 months:
-She loves to count (we know 1-10)
-She can say many words after they are spoken to her. She especially loves telling us when things are "hot" "cold" "soft" "hurt"
-During her last cold, she told me "nose" (which meant she wanted her nose wiped)
-She loves to put things "on" "off" "open" "close", although she gets confused between which one to use
-She can tell us the colors she wants to use when she is drawing. She especially loves saying "yeyow" (yellow) and "peeenk" (pink)
-She is learning manners such as using "tank you" (thank you) and "please" when she wants something.
-She has such cute expressions such as "oooh" when something is weird, gross, or pretty.
-She has also picked up the habit of reading a book and showing her "students" the pictures (like mother, like daughter) :)
-This Christmas, we have started counting to 3 everytime I turn on the Christmas lights to the tree and mantle. This is a great way to start our day. :)
Thursday, Eric and I, along with our parents, attended Delaney's Preschool Program...
We were so proud to be there as her parents and thankful to be able to share this memory with her grandparents. We were thoroughly entertained with the song "Where is Santa?" sung by the toddler class... (she is the one in pink second from the right)
Except unfortunately the extent of the this little girl's performance consisted of this...
Hat falling off...
And put back on quickly... :)
Oh well...
She looked thrilled...:)
After Delaney's performace, the grandparents stayed and visited the "super star," as we all gave her much praise for her talents. :)
Then she decided to try this "Santa Claus" visit one more time...
She really thought about it...
And thought not so much...
And so Daddy decided to talk with Santa about it all...:)
The next morning, Eric was lucky and had the day off with this cute little thing...
All the photography was taken by him, too...:)
They played with friends...
Showed love to others...
And chowed down on some good food...
She ate every bit of it.

Silly girl...

This was one of her friends...
Eric was told by Delaney's teacher that she prefers to sit in the "time out" seat. That is why her seat looks "special." She likes to think it is the best seat in the house. :)
As the other kids are playing and making messes, Delaney continues her mission to clean up after everyone..
Cleaning up some more...
Geez, messy people!! Come on!!
This is the book she received from the book swap. She was very happy with her new Santa book!
Daddy's day with Delaney!

She loves her teacher, Kimberly, too! :)
More parties to come!
