Last blog
This will be the last post from the blog http://www.lovelaney.blogspot.com/. We needed a new spot to write about our growing family, so we created the blog http://www.ericclaire.blogspot.com/. This way, we can continue to write about our family (no matter how big or small it may be). :)

"Where do they learn these things?"
Most mornings, I've been waking up early enough to dress Delaney. Yeah, 4:45 (even on SATURDAYS) is when this little princess wakes up. :) This has also been an opportunity for me to take some quick pictures since she is growing up so fast. I think she was taught from day one how to get her "camera face" on...
BUT, I really don't know what to say when she puts her hands on her knees like this. Eric and I found ourselves asking the question, "Where does she learn these things?" It cracked us up!!
And then this little pose...I don't know where she learned it!! Maybe Vogue magazine?
I was lucky enough to learn about a lady in Trussville (All Things Splendid) who paints furniture. Here are two pieces of furniture I had painted in Pottery Barn antique white...
I will most definitely be sharing a before and after picture of Delaney's room. :)
WE CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SEPT. 1st! In exactly one week, we find out what Baby #2 will be!!

First Day of K2!!
Today was Delaney's first day of K2 class. The way we prepared for it and went on and on about it you would have thought she was going to "big girl" school. After buying all of this...
She didn't need a backpack for school, but we definitely showed off our new Dora backpack anyway! Thanks Nana!
So excited for school!
Maybe SUPER excited about school...
and getting a new "first day of school outfit," you better bet I was taking pictures early that morning. Delaney decided to be the diva that she is by modeling her outfit...
Pose One...
Pose One...
Pose Two...
Pose Three...
When we tell her to smile for the camera, she just screams, "CHEEEEESE!!!" So instead of getting her pretty smile, we end up with a toothy grin. :)She didn't need a backpack for school, but we definitely showed off our new Dora backpack anyway! Thanks Nana!

So at the end of the day, I was super eager to find out how our little funny girl angel did...
Our little girl is perfect. Of course. :)

Baby Update
I am very aware that this blog will have to change a little when the baby gets here (aka the name and URL address). I will definitely make sure the next name is geared for multiple additions to the family! Here's a few updates about our upcoming arrival.
I have now been to the doctor three times with baby number 2, and I feel this pregnancy is going by super fast! I wanted blog about some details because it's been a lot harder to have the time to write them down. I can't believe that this little angel is 13 weeks...That is, until Delaney reminds me of the "baby in mommy's tummy" by either saying it or poking it in one way or another.
The first ultrasound was taken when I was about 9 weeks. FYI-For those having a hard time seeing the baby, it's the little blob lying on his/her back at the bottom of the black part.
During that ultrasound, Eric was unable to come with me because of work, but my mother was witness to the amazing event of the baby waving to us. :) All of the nausea and sickness is worth it as soon as you see your child for the first time, even if it's just on a screen. And I also believe that, even if you don't think you will, you will cry because it's a miracle. On that same visit, the baby measured a few days early which put my due date at January 24th, but D. Hudson said we are sticking with January 29th., 2012. The baby's heartbeat was also really high at 178, and this usually means girls (according to the old wives' tale).
Today, the baby's heartbeat was 154, and everything checked out great. I will be starting to take a progesterone shot once a week to try and delay the onset of going into labor early. The most important part of the visit was the question of when we find out what the baby is going to be!! Answer: September 1st! I can't wait to start getting things ready and organized for the baby!
Speaking of a baby that keeps things a littlemessy organized...
Cute things that Delaney does for Baby #2:
1. Put a little lamb in the bassinet that is set up in our room. She points to it and says, "That's for baby in mommy's tummy."
2.She always wants to talk and kiss the baby, and then makes Eric come and whisper and kiss the baby, too. :) This sometimes becomes a fun battle of who can kiss the baby more times.
3. When we see any baby (commercials, restaurants, etc.) she yells, "baby in mommy's tummy!"
I'm hoping that she will be able to switch the term "baby in mommy's tummy" to the actual name when we find out what it is. :)
4. Every time she is playing with her toys, she wants to get her "baby" and rock/sing to it "Hush Little Baby." I tell her she can help me sing to our new baby when it gets here.

Summer Beach Trip 2011
We LOVED the beach! We had the best time vacationing at my aunt and uncle's condo this past weekend. Unfortunately, Eric could only take 1/2 a day on Thursday, so I spent the day keeping Delaney occupied with activities to keep her mind off of "going to the beach!" (she said it a million times that day). So before we left, we had to get in our Kindermusik time with Ms. Ramona...
She always enjoys the shakers...
and balls...
Then it's time for story time...
After Kindermusik, we were ready for the ride to the beach with our FIRST ever Barbie (beach girl Barbie)...
Barbie was lucky enough to be the "sticker person" on the trip...
This meant that these little pieces ofclutter cuteness...

Eric's Delaney's favorite part was when the staff danced all around the place...
BUBBLES!!
Totally enthralled...
And when they put their hands up...
So did this little girl...
The next morning, we went straight to the pool...(really early)
Sweet.
She only liked the sand. Which is better than last year, when she didn't even want to touch it...
Two peas in a pod...
There's the ocean...
Let's go to the pool...
So relaxing...
And so much fun.

By the time we got there, we had been through 3 videos...
As soon as we got there (around 4:30ish), we decided to head to the Hangout. This is one of our favorite Gulf Shores restaurants because it is very family friendly...BUBBLES!!
