Fourth of July Weekend!!

*Eric recently took over the blog to add some new songs, "Splish-Splash" (he gives her all her baths) and "Steal my Kisses" (because that's what we always have to do with our buggy!!) I also added "Twinkle-Twinkle" because she has a new talent...singing! She loves to say the part, "Up Above the World so High." Aunt Lori Beth is so proud. hehe :)
We started off the weekend with a trip to Pepper Place in Birmingham on Saturday. Delaney loved it! She wore her new pink and white squeaker shoes that Nannie bought her, and everyone commented on them. They sure do help us keep up with our little walker. :)

Before we left for the morning, she and Pop had their picture taken outside... (during one of their bird-watching, tree-hugging adventures)

When we came home that evening, Delaney had one of her weekly mirror sessions before bed. She loves looking at how beautiful she is. :)

Kiss, Kiss...

Cracking herself up!!!
Whatcha think about that, Mom?

On Sunday, we visited Eric's family at the Warrior River. We had a fun time seeing all the family, playing with dogs, and meeting new kids. She gets so excited to love on her Nana, Grandaddy, and Alec. :)
When we came home, she showed off her skills in the all-American sport of baseball... (such a daddy's girl) Too bad she frequently loses her ball under the t.v...
There it is!!!

Still looking for it...(Look how flexible our girl is!)

She gave up on the ball and started trying to cover Oscar with her dress...

Still trying...

We had a great Fourth of July, and one thing's for sure...we are proud to be an American.

We love our kindermusik!

Every week, we look forward to Kindermusik. Kindermusik is a class that we started taking last summer when Delaney was just a newborn. (I posted about those a LONG time ago). We loved it so much, we took it again this summer. She is enjoying the class more, especially now that she walks, hums, and loves to "people-watch." Delaney also loves it because her friend, Connor, is there with her. :)
Here are some pics from our day at the Pink House...

Kiss, Kiss...Sweet Connor is telling Delaney that it's time for Kindermusik! Delaney's face cracks me up!

Talking about it...

What's goin' on here?

Move over brother....
She found the perfect instrument...

Laney likes to feel the beat...

Connor is showing Laney how it's done...:)

Drumming away...
We love Ms. R!

Delaney LOVES the parachute...The other girl didn't. haha..

Music, Food, and Fun!

I decided to "spice up the blog" and post a playlist. :) The songs were chosen for different reasons, but are all characteristic of Delaney. For those who might wonder the reasons for the selections:
1. When I was pregnant with Delaney, I heard the old Savage Garden song, "I knew I loved you before I met you," and although I was already emotional anyway, it made me think of how Eric and I were about to meet someone we didn't know, but already loved.
2.I also put a song by Jimmy Buffet entitled "Delaney talks to Statues." I hadn't heard the song before I put it on the playlist, but I think his daughter, Delaney, has the perfect name. :)
3."Isn't she lovely?" is a classic Stevie Wonder song that describes the exact phrases Eric and I (and the ENTIRE family) say about our Laneybug all the time.
4."A bushel and a peck" is an old song, but it reminds me of the many songs sang to me by my own grandmothers.
5.Finally, Raffi was not only my favorite singer growing up, but he is now Delaney's, too. :)

I put food on the blog's title because Delaney is eating a LOT of it! Here are a few pics from our lunch date with Daddy and our last spaghetti dinner:

Hamburger Heaven milkshake! Yummy!...(and she sits so "lady like.") haha

Diggin' into the noodles...

And bath time is FUN!!!

Buggy on the Move

I really thought last summer was more exhausting because of all the feedings, lack of sleep, and emotions. I have been proven wrong. :)This summer our little buggy has been on the move ever since she started to walk (13 1/2 mos.). We were beginning to wonder if she had balance issues because of how late of a walker she was, but her balance is just fine. :) Forget about relaxing and taking in the sun, we have play dates on Tuesdays, Kindermusik on Wednesdays, and park trips with friends in between. Although it can wear both of us out, it is soo much fun... we also take a nap afterwards. :)
On our weeklt "toddler Tueday" Cayden wasn't feeling well, so Delaney and I met my wonderful friend, Merritt, for lunch at Frontera. Delaney liked her cheese quesadillas, and LOVED Merritt. :)

After lunch, Delaney and I decided to try out the new Trussville park. We TRIED to make it for more than 5 minutes, but it was too hot. She did manage to introduce herself to the dinosaur...

hippopotamus...

and her favorite person, herself...:)
