Unseen Moments

I don't have too many new pictures to upload on this single post. But Eric, Delaney and I were putting diapers on our head (clean BTW)the other night when Eric made the comment, "We just can't take photos of all the moments that we have, but they sure are special." It made me think about taking a second to remember the moments that I don't quite get to the camera in time, or I just don't want the moment to be interrupted by a flash. I started the blog for family, but it has turned into a "baby book" for her, too. I try to write as much as I can about the moments from the camera, but here are some things (at 18 months) that she won't see from photos, but mean the world to us...
Delaney,
-Every morning, you wake up, smile, and and say "sak"-means "snack"
-You love brushing your teeth, but we have to put it "to sleep" to make sure you won't open the drawer for it over and over again.
-When I pick you up from daycare, you drop EVERYTHING and run to me saying, "Mommy!"
-You love to tumble, flip, and play all the time...

-Every afternoon, we listen to Raffi. Your favorites continue to be "Apples and Bananas" and "Day-O".
-You will dance with just about anyone at anytime. Live music is your favorite...
-When we come home, we talk about your day over our 4:00 snack. It is a must to have juice and something a little sweet. :)
-When Daddy comes home, we play really hard. Although we call it stubborn sometimes, you are a very independent little girl, and you would rather run around without our help. We hope throughout your life you stay as happy and content as you are right now...

-During bathtime, we like to make words using letters and toot our flute. You laugh everytime Daddy pretends to get startled from your toot. After bathtime, I protect you during a game of hide-n-seek with Daddy, and maintain my status of "home base". I will try to protect you from other games you play with him, too. :)

We tell you everyday how much we love you, and we know you might not know how much yet. But we will continue to guide and support you in everything you dream to become. I just wanted to take the time to let you know moments that aren't photographed, but so special to us. Although we still can't believe you have grown from the little bundle we brought home 5 weeks earlier than expected...

into a beautiful little girl with so much to look forward to...

We truly thank God everyday for letting us share our lives with such a smart, loving, and beautiful little girl.

Just Hangin' Around

For this post, the song fit perfectly. October has been a very hectic month, and this past weekend we added to the craziness by having an Open House. We were kind of forced to get out of the house for awhile, but it was a great family day. We ended up finding something to occupy Delaney...chairs! :) She loved getting on and off the table/chair set at Babies R Us. We were there for about an hour, but we just sat in the rockers and watched this little one look like this... At almost 18 months, Delaney is really getting an active and somewhat stubborn personality. We think it could be her pigtails that make her even more spunky, or maybe it's just in her genes. :)
Sticking her tongue out...
The next couple of pictures were taken before bed, so pardon the messy hair/mismatched pajamas. But I wanted to photograph her obsession with chairs. No one is allowed to sit in them, not even Daddy...
Don't even think about it...
She's giving Eric the "eye."
"Mine."
Stop to pose...
Are you watching?
Focus...
Tah-Dah!!

Irondale Festival

The past week, we have been looking like this..We have been on the move constantly. Between Open House, selling our house, and going to other people's houses, we've been on the go every night. So this weekend we decided to get out again...
Except this time we looked like this...

Yes, it's true. We ran into Mickey Mouse again. We just can't get enough of the cute guy...

Or his main girl... (who we will be this Halloween)

We tried our hand at some very hard, strategic games. :) She was very choosey about which duck she picked. It had to be just right. She ended up with the perfect prize...
And of course every vendor gave her a prize...
and a flag... "Hey, ol' train conductor!!"
We were feeling tough, so we decided to bite the bullet and get our very first (and only) tattoo! She picked out a ladybug.
After she saw it, she suddenly started giving people the "mean eye." haha..She's one tough chick...
Until she sees the "pretty flowers"...

She also wanted to make friends with the puppies... Then we decided to take a ride on the train...
Pop decided to grab a snack...
She kept saying "Toot Toot!"
After the train ride, she told Nannie all about it...
And had a sip of Lori Beth's drink...
By the end of the adventure, we were tired...
But happy...
And also saw a random weirdo on the way home...

and ended up looking like we do everyday...

Folk Festival Fun

Lately, every weekend seems to be filled with something fun for Delaney to enjoy. This weekend, we took her down to the Leeds Folk Festival. When we arrived, we had the best time looking at hand-made crafts, chasing Delaney, buying scarves, chasing Delaney, and dancing to the music...and a little more chasing Delaney. :)
Pretty flower or "fower" as she says...

Holding Nannie and Pop's hands on the way there...

This was her favorite spot...
or she was running all over the place when we put her down...

She spotted an old friend...
She started feelin the music...
And there she goes...
Little performer...
Showing off her dance moves...
All that dancing got her sweaty! We needed to hydrate with some fresh lemonade...
We also made the kiss rounds...

Then we saw a huge turtle...
Bye-Bye!
And goodnight...
