Our First Christmas Performance and PAR-TAY!

Before the blog, I want to remember some cute things that Delaney is doing at 19 months:
-She loves to count (we know 1-10)
-She can say many words after they are spoken to her. She especially loves telling us when things are "hot" "cold" "soft" "hurt"
-During her last cold, she told me "nose" (which meant she wanted her nose wiped)
-She loves to put things "on" "off" "open" "close", although she gets confused between which one to use
-She can tell us the colors she wants to use when she is drawing. She especially loves saying "yeyow" (yellow) and "peeenk" (pink)
-She is learning manners such as using "tank you" (thank you) and "please" when she wants something.
-She has such cute expressions such as "oooh" when something is weird, gross, or pretty.
-She has also picked up the habit of reading a book and showing her "students" the pictures (like mother, like daughter) :)
-This Christmas, we have started counting to 3 everytime I turn on the Christmas lights to the tree and mantle. This is a great way to start our day. :)
Thursday, Eric and I, along with our parents, attended Delaney's Preschool Program...
We were so proud to be there as her parents and thankful to be able to share this memory with her grandparents. We were thoroughly entertained with the song "Where is Santa?" sung by the toddler class... (she is the one in pink second from the right)
Except unfortunately the extent of the this little girl's performance consisted of this...
Hat falling off...
And put back on quickly... :)
Oh well...
She looked thrilled...:)
After Delaney's performace, the grandparents stayed and visited the "super star," as we all gave her much praise for her talents. :)
Then she decided to try this "Santa Claus" visit one more time...
She really thought about it...
And thought not so much...
And so Daddy decided to talk with Santa about it all...:)
The next morning, Eric was lucky and had the day off with this cute little thing...
All the photography was taken by him, too...:)
They played with friends...
Showed love to others...
And chowed down on some good food...
She ate every bit of it.

Silly girl...

This was one of her friends...
Eric was told by Delaney's teacher that she prefers to sit in the "time out" seat. That is why her seat looks "special." She likes to think it is the best seat in the house. :)
As the other kids are playing and making messes, Delaney continues her mission to clean up after everyone..
Cleaning up some more...
Geez, messy people!! Come on!!
This is the book she received from the book swap. She was very happy with her new Santa book!
Daddy's day with Delaney!

She loves her teacher, Kimberly, too! :)
More parties to come!

Lipstick and All Things Girly

A lipstick fascination has come over Delaney. She MUST put on lipstick every morning as she tells me, "lik-stick, Momma." It's really just Carmex, but to her, this...
is a necessity...
But instead of teaching her "less is more,"
She likes to think "more is better"...

And along with her deep love of this book...
and finding these...
and hanging with this friend...
And flirting with this little guy...

She thought she'd love seeing this guy at "Breakfast with Santa"...
She was wrong...
 But it was fun anyway.
She didn't feel well that day, but we had a fun time visiting with some friends...
 A little blurry...
And giving hugs at the end...
On a side note... This shirt was worn in some of the pics and we say "THANK YOU!" to Aunt Lori Beth and Mike. We love you! :)

Santa Claus is coming to town..and Gingerbread Man, too!

It's still hard for us to believe that Delaney has grown from this baby girl...
To the sweet toddler she is today... FYI- I put her in the same shirt she wore last year to do some comparison pictures. I ended up only finding a video from the January blog if you're interested. :) She has already started "mothering" her "pu-ppy." She loves to tell him, "Night-night" and "sit down."

Delaney has been very excited during the holiday season! This year, she has really begun to notice everything around her. She is realizing that the tree is decorated with all sorts of fun things. She loves the ornaments.
Memaw gave her raggedy Ann...

She loves her gingerbread man. This is especially fun because one of her favorite books this year is The Gingerbread Man.

She knows that Santa says, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"

And the Christmas Tree is "pri-tee!" (pretty) She loves to point out all her favorite ornaments.

Last year, Eric and I purchased a Mickey that tells the story The Night Before Christmas. We knew she would love it (of course...it's Mickey!). But, she still gets confused and calls him "Minnie" most of the time. :)

This is what she does with him...

and gives him a big smooch..

One of the best things we bought this year was her new needlepoint stocking from Neiman Marcus. This stocking will be hers for years to come...

We hope everyone has a great holiday season!!

We were so excited to be able to visit with both our families on the Thanksgiving Day. First, we went and had a huge, wonderful meal at my cousin and her husband's house.
We loved getting to see this awesome girl... and getting to eat all this awesome food!
She was especially grateful for the snowman cookie that Ms. Karen gave her. She bit his head off right away! :)
After getting some energy from our food, we geared up to play the drums with Erol.
He was the best teacher because he showed us how to hold the sticks...
Get ready...
and rock out... :)
After awhile we were ready for some outdoor fun with a nice walk...
Beautiful scenery...
and a big, flat playground to yell and scream about...

We braved the slide, tongue and all...
and then dared to jump off the ledge... After an exciting day with the family, we traveled to see our Nana, Grandaddy, Alec and Santa Clause.
We thought he might need a snack.
or maybe Grandaddy needs a snack...
Ok, maybe Granddaddy and Delaney need a snack...
And then we can go home in our pjs... :) What a great day!
