The Big 0-1
Delaney is going to turn one on April 15th. She also wants to remind you to do your taxes!! :) We have decided to do a family birthday since I tend to get anxiety about big crowds in small places (our house). Here is the invitation we sent out to our family. I think it turned out pretty cute...
Spring is in the air!
Delaney is thrilled with the springtime weather(especially when "Pop", my dad, takes her out). There is a specific pine tree that she knows he will use to tickle her neck. She adores him. We have had the best weather for picnics and park trips. She never stopped smiling during her swinging time...
Notice the Guy Harvey shirt with the flower head band to "girly it up" (like father-like daughter). Thanks, Mary Beth!! :) She also loves to watch Eric fly his toy helicopter around the house.
I decided to take a picture of the Easter basket the night before since I knew it would be demolished the minute she found it. The basket was from my cousin, Terri Lynn, for my baby shower in April of last year.
She woke up early (4am) to a surprise from the Easter Bunny! She imediately knew it was just for her.
Testing out the new cell phone...
I hid some big Easter eggs filled with Sesame Street characters. She loved searching for them with her daddy.
After we played with the new gifts, Eric and I took her to the early service at church where she sang (hummed) to the contemporary music. This was the first time we TRIED to take her into a church service, and I think we learned our lesson (atleast for a few more years). Eventually, she became a little too vocal, so I ended up taking her to the nursery. Everyone complimented her new Easter attire. She wore the bunny outfit that Nana Jean had given her...
Delaney was sweet to the horses...
What's in the baskets?
Photos in front of the horses at KK's house...
Showing off the new purse with Nannie...
Then we headed off towards Hueytown to visit the Roberts. She enjoyed checking out her Easter basket from Nana Jean and Grandaddy...
She took a picture with her cousin, Alec.
Delaney and I put on our shades and hid the eggs for the boys.
It got a little competitive, and Eric did a little "jig" when he got excited...
Happy Springtime to YOU!!!

Lions, and Tigers, and People..Oh my!!
The weather has been so crazy that it has been hard for us to enjoy the weather as a family. But this Saturday, Eric and I decided to battle the crowds and take Delaney to the zoo. It was so crowded that we were sent to the grassy area at the entrance. I usually get anxious about crowds, but it wasn't bad at all. When we first stepped through the gates we had to stop to take some pictures. :)

Then Delaney enjoyed the brightly-colored birds and feeding the fish in the water.
She loved the flamingos at first...

Then she felt like this...

She and Eric had a blast on the carousel...

Then we did a LOT of pointing...

The last stop was the petting zoo where Delaney loved on the goats. We were a little afraid she would pull their hair, like she does Oscar, but she was very gentle and smiled the whole time!!

After all that excitement we took a nap when we got home. She and I will have some mommy-daughter time this week since it's spring break. YAY!!!

Lovebug on the Loose
Delaney is everywhere these days! Keeping the house clean while trying to sale it has been a little difficult. She now knows where we keep her toys, and can crawl over to take them out of the basket. She thinks it is hilarious when she takes each toy out to show us which one she has in her hand. Delaney's smile has become VERY toothy, and she loves to show them off. :)Here are some recent events: She had a great first Valentine's day with the family. Eric and I gave her a crawl-through train. She and daddy had a blast getting stuck in it together. My parents gave her some adorable clothes from our favorite store, Pampolina. She also received girly building blocks from Eric's mom. She has thoroughly enjoyed tearing down Eric's castles. Aunt LB and Mike gave her a stuffed ladybug that she loves on when she is crawling around. Eric's aunt, Pat, gave her a ball that rolls around on its own, and keeps her going. She crawls so much that in some pics you'll see her lip has a scab on it from a "crawling accident." The weather has been crazy, so the pictures are VERY random. From the snow day, February 13, to sunny pics from today's after-church picnic (she loves her mashed potatoes and biscuits from KFC), we took as many as we could while trying to catch up with her. After all the fun, we enjoy watching our 10 month old baby girl take a nap... just to do to it all over again in about an hour. :)
