Baby Update

I am very aware that this blog will have to change a little when the baby gets here (aka the name and URL address). I will definitely make sure the next name is geared for multiple additions to the family! Here's a few updates about our upcoming arrival.
I have now been to the doctor three times with baby number 2, and I feel this pregnancy is going by super fast! I wanted blog about some details because it's been a lot harder to have the time to write them down. I can't believe that this little angel is 13 weeks...That is, until Delaney reminds me of the "baby in mommy's tummy" by either saying it or poking it in one way or another.
The first ultrasound was taken when I was about 9 weeks. FYI-For those having a hard time seeing the baby, it's the little blob lying on his/her back at the bottom of the black part.

During that ultrasound, Eric was unable to come with me because of work, but my mother was witness to the amazing event of the baby waving to us. :) All of the nausea and sickness is worth it as soon as you see your child for the first time, even if it's just on a screen. And I also believe that, even if you don't think you will, you will cry because it's a miracle. On that same visit, the baby measured a few days early which  put my due date at January 24th, but D. Hudson said we are sticking with January 29th., 2012.  The baby's heartbeat was also really high at 178, and this usually means girls (according to the old wives' tale).

Today, the baby's heartbeat was 154, and everything checked out great. I will be starting to take a progesterone shot once a week to try and delay the onset of going into labor early. The most important part of the visit was the question of when we find out what the baby is going to be!! Answer: September 1st!  I can't wait to start getting things ready and organized for the baby!

Speaking of a baby that keeps things a little messy organized...
Cute things that Delaney does for Baby #2:
1.  Put a little lamb in the bassinet that is set up in our room. She points to it and says, "That's for baby in mommy's tummy."
2.She always wants to talk and kiss the baby, and then makes Eric come and whisper and kiss the baby, too. :) This sometimes becomes a fun battle of who can kiss the baby more times.
3.  When we see any baby (commercials, restaurants, etc.) she yells, "baby in mommy's tummy!"
I'm hoping that she will be able to switch the term "baby in mommy's tummy" to the actual name when we find out what it is. :)
4.  Every time she is playing with her toys, she wants to get her "baby" and rock/sing to it "Hush Little Baby." I tell her she can help me sing to our new baby when it gets here.
