Happy Birthday to Delaney! (Part One)

Delaney turned two years old and with it came two celebrations. I had planned to take a cake to Delaney's daycare friends, but due to the bad weather on her actual birthday (Friday), we were unable to make it that day. Eric, Delaney, and I were living with my mom and dad while waiting to close on the new house, and everyone was sick (including Delaney). This made for a not-so-fun time. By Saturday, we were feeling a little better and were happy to be able to enjoy a family birthday celebration on a beatiful April day!
This was the cake for her daycare. She loves her "fetty" (fairy) book, so I thought the fairy cake would be a hit with her. She ended up wanting to see her cake over and over throughout the weekend...
She also begged sweetly asked for a sample of her cake...
On Saturday, the family party was an Easter theme...
The bad weather made it more difficult to make it to Dreamcakes Bakery, for their famous cupcakes. I managed to make it the morning before the party, and it was well worth the wait...:)

 She thought so, too...

She loved opening her gifts. They included clothes, toys, money, beautiful dresses, books, swim items (for our summer "Mommy and Me" swim class, drawing items, etc...She loved them all!!!
Here she is also driving her new...CAR!
This is the face she made shortly after when we pulled her away from it to take it outside...(She will love this when she gets older)
 Back to sweetness...
 Pure Bliss...
This face sums up the whole day and everything "Delaney." It was one fun-filled, exciting, (and always crazy) birthday. :) And this was just her family party. :)
Here are some things Delaney is doing at two years old:
-loves to play on her "park" (outdoor playset)
-calls Eric and I by our first name sometimes: Mommy "Claire" and Daddy "Eric"
-loves to drive her electric car
-enjoys art activities (play-dough, markers, etc.)
-Favorite foods: Mashed potatoes and spaghetti (she actually says it correctly)
-Funny favorite thing: Flintstones vitamins. She won't let me to give her one either!
-Favorite game: Hidin' (hide-and-seek)
-She can put together short sentences.
-Can recite the entire book Goodnight Moon word for word
-She still loves to be a teacher and read books to us.
-Loves to sing and dance (she especially loves for Eric to play music on his phone after bathtime)
-VERY ticklish and loves for the animals to "eat corn" on her knee
-She wants us to tell her "cresets" (secrets) and they included to give people "wet willy's", hugs, and kisses
-She knows MANY songs and nursery rhymes and now creates her own versions such as "Where is Thumbkin?" has become "Where is shoe?" "What are you doo-in?" etc.
-When reciting "Humpty Dumpty" she makes a sad face when it gets to the part about not being able to put him back together again. This is a crowd favorite. )
-I am so amazed at all the things she has learned at her daycare. She not only knows her colors, shapes, and letters, but she also knows how to treat others with love. When she knows she has hurt someone or something, she immediately hugs it and says "I sorry."
